Updates on ‘Quit Facebook day’
Last Friday was observed as the 'Quit Facebook Day'.
This campaign originated to banish the usage of social networking site across the world over its privacy policies that has earlier seen 14,000 members sign up to it at the start of last week.
At present the number of people who have left the social networking site have crossed a figure of 33,000 and still going strong, the two organisers who runs the campaign, Matthew Milan and Joseph Dee have instigated the modus operandi, reports The Guardian.
This may seem to be a skim in the wide ocean of Facebook's 450 million worldwide users, but may prove to be a substantial amount in the end.
This is a move that has come in lieu of the supposed security controls that are happening, with CEO Mark Zuckerberg swiftly outlining a number of significant changes that started to occur from the last month.
Now, the site claims to have simplified its privacy options to one-click settings, and this single click ensures that the social networking site doesn't share your data with third party sites.
However safe this step sounds to be, it still has to face the brunt of Federal Trade Commission.
