According to the officials, Ceradyne Inc. was selected to deliver its armor technologies for integration on the command stations of patrol vessels for the Iraqi navy.

U. S. company Ceradyne was selected with Turner Strategic Technologies as part of a U. S. Foreign Military Sales Program to support a patrol vessels construction project under way by Louisiana's Swiftships.

Ceradyne will supply its armor solutions for integration with the command stations aboard the patrol vessels to help protect Iraqi navy personnel, under the contract, worth up to $6 million if all options are exercised.

Ceradyne Armor Systems President Marc King said in a statement, "We are pleased to be working along side Turner Strategic Technologies and Swiftships on this important project."

He further added, "It gives us the opportunity to demonstrate our expertise in the armoring of small and medium-size naval vessels."
