US-India set to cooperate in space science

US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton India is set to sign an "end-use monitoring" deal with US in a bid to avail sophisticated US arms. The deal is expected to be signed between visiting US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and his Indian counterpart External Affairs Minister S.M. Krishna at Hyderabad House this evening.

Both leaders will discuss issues such as non-proliferation, security, education, health and development, initiating new dialogue architecture for mutual co-operation and taking relationships between both countries to new heights dubbed as 'India-U.S. 3.0'.

India and U.S. will also sign a deal to cooperate in space science for supporting launch of U.S. satellites and new satellites with U.S. components via Indian manufactured satellite launch vehicles.

The prospective new Technology Safeguards Agreement (TSA) will pave a way for India to access US expertise for its space mission.

Both countries will also sign result-oriented cooperation deal in science and technology which will encourage collaborative research and commercialization of technology.

Both countries had already signed Science and Technology Cooperation Agreement in October 2005 as per ministry of external affairs.
