Videocon Group's subsidiary, Videocon Telecommunications has launched its very own GSM service. The brand name of the service would be Videocon Mobile Services. It was launched in Coimbatore.

Besides that, the company has also unveiled nine more handsets. After this, it has 21 different handsets in its portfolio.

The company plans to sell a million handsets every month. As of now, it is selling 2.5-3 lakh units every month.

Videocon had started its handset business in October last year and since then has been able to do quite well. And now with its GSM service, it has entered the mobile telecommunication business in full-fledged manner.

And it wants to target the mass with its service which can be understood from the bill plan it is providing. Its sim-kit starts with Rs. 49 and will give a talk-time of Rs. 5. And then the recharge starts from as less as Rs. 31. It is also giving many low-priced packages.

These services, the company said, would be available close to every Videocon showrooms. It would also be present in Videocon Mobile shops, 'Next' showrooms and 'Planet M'.
