Vikram Malhotra and Dipika Pallikal win National junior tournament

Vikram Malhotra and Dipika Pallikal win National junior tournament On Tuesday, Top seed Vikram Malhotra was extremely happy as his last National tournament as a junior fetched him the under-19 crown at the ICL Squash Academy. The young man who would turn 19 next week, won from the State-mate and second seed Aditya Jagtap in straight games in the finals. 

In the first game, they both stood at 8-8, following which, Vikram used a deceptive mix of oblique drops to inch to 10-8. 

On the other hand, in the girls' under-19 category, Dipika Pallikal won her second successive National junior tournament. During the twenty minute encounter, she faced a tough competition against Rajasthan's Surbhi Misra, who wrong-footed her several times. 

Dipika, who belongs to Tamil Nadu led by 7-0, 3-0, and 5-0 in the first, second and third game respectively, and didn't give any chance to her opponent to play catch up. 

TNs Karan Malik and Harita Om Prakash in the under-17 boys' and girls' category respectively, and Anaka Alankamony in the girls' under-15 section were other noteworthy winners. Another young champ for Tamil Nadu was Roshan R. K. in the boys' under-11 class.
