Wimbledon: Bhupathi-Knowles Enters The 2nd Round In a nerve-wracking battle, the Indo-Bahamian pair of Mahesh Bhupathi and Mark Knowles bounced back from a set down to beat Indian Somdev Devvarman and South African Kevin Anderson and move into the second round of Wimbledon men's doubles event here.

The fourth seeds duo had to stretch them to the limit to edge past Devvarman-Anderson 6-7 (4), 6-4, 7-5, 7-5 in the opening round of the match.

In their very first appearance in the Grand Slam, the young Somdev and Anderson left their rivals in a tough meet that lasted for more than four-hours.

Bhupathi-Knowles lost the first set in tie-breaker before they cameback hard to draw level with a break of serve in the second game.

The Indo-Bahamian pair took the lead converting one of the four break points in the third set.

In their next game, Bhupathi and Knowles will take on Geram Philipp Petzschner and Austrian Alexander Peya.

Meanwhile, Prakash Amritraj and his Pakistani partner Aisam-Ul-Haq Qureshi also moved into second round, beating Stephen Huss of Australia and Ross Hutchins of Britain 6-4, 6-7(12), 6-4, 3-6, 6-3.
