Winning Ashes is just 'the beginning' for Oz, says Clarke

Michael-ClarkeSydney, Dec 19 : Australian captain Michael Clarke has said that winning the Ashes is just the beginning for them as they cannot be simply satisfied with reclaiming the urn from their arch-rivals England.

Although Clarke insisted that there is no more special feeling in the game than winning the Ashes, which he believes is their ultimate reward for hard work, he however, stated that they need to redouble their efforts if they want to climb back up the Test rankings and become number one again

According to Telegraph. com. au, Clarke said that there is no magic formula to success, which his team has just proved by taking an unassailable lead in the series, adding that he and his team could feel that things were turning around for them by the end of the summer series and took that feeling into the current one.

Clarke further said that each one of them understands and appreciates the encouragement and support that they have received and are determined to ensure that they would meet that responsibility, adding that they do not want to let go of the special feeling of winning the Ashes and would be heading to Melbo urne with the same intent.

Clarke also said that there would be no short cuts, no complacency and no sense of self-satisfaction that the job is done as they are still a long way from number one. (ANI)
