Scat AirlinesMelbourne, Jan 15 : The least safe airlines in the world include those from Nepal, Kazakhstan and Afghanistan, according to safety ranking made by AirlineRaings. com.

Around 449 airlines from across the world were evaluated on the basis of global aviation safety standards.

News. com. au reported the airlines were rated on a seven-star system that leaned on accreditation from various international flight bodies. If any airline used exclusively Russian-made equipment, it lost one star automatically.

Nepal's Tara Air and Nepal Airlines, Kazakhstan's Scat Airlines and Afghanistan's Kam Air were ranked the worst of worst airlines with just one star to their credit. Interestingly, with no trace of Flight MH370, Malaysia Airlines was ranked among the safest airlines.

Meanwhile, Qantas, which hasn't had a fatal crash in the jet era, was named the world's safest airlines.

Air New Zealand, British Airways, Cathay Pacific Airways, Emirates, Etihad Airways, EVA Air, Finnair, Lufthansa and Singapore Airlines were placed among the top ten airlines. (ANI)
