You can’t punish me twice for one offence, Afridi “requests” PCB

You can’t punish me twice for one offence, Afridi “requests” PCBThe Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has been asked by the newly appointed Pakistan T20 captain Shahid Afridi to review the fine of three million rupees slapped on him for ball tampering during the last one-day international of the five match series in Australia.

Afridi said that one can not be punished twice for an offence as he was banned by the International Cricket Council (ICC) for two T20 matches for the 'shocking' ball chomping incident.

The Dawn quoted Afridi, as saying, "Two punishments can not be given for one offence. I met PCB Chairman Ijaz Butt and requested him for revoking the fine. I am just lodging a personal appeal with the PCB Chairman for revoking the fine," he commented. I am not challenging PCB authority."

He was eagerly looking forward to the ICC World T20 Championship in the West Indies, and would give his best to help the team defend the title, Afridi said.

He further said, "Leading the team is a great challenge and I am looking forward to successfully defend the title in West Indies." (With Inputs from Agencies)
