Zydus Cadila gets approval from USFDA to market Benazepril

Pharmaceutical major Zydus Cadila has received approval from the US FDA to market Benazepril Tablets in 5, 10, 20 and 40 mg dosage.
The drug is used to treat high blood pressure and the combined sales of all the strengths as per NDC was estimated at USD 301 million in 2007
This marks the 38th ANDA approval for the group. So far, the group has filed 78 ANDAs and 59 DMFs.
During the quarter ended March 2008, the profit of the company declined 5.60% to Rs 35.4 crore from Rs 37.5 crore in the same quarter last year.
