BSNL Signs Sale & Distribution Deal With Micromax For 3G Data CardsBSNL and Micromax have signed up a national deal for sale and distribution of 3G Data Cards to the BSNL subscribers.

The freshly launched BSNL 3G services are presently available in around 11 cities, and BSNL eyes to raise this reach to approx 700 cities by the next 2-3 months.

Mr. Vikas Jain, Business Director, Micromax Informatics Limited, commented, “It’s always been a delight to bring in the latest technology products to the Indian customers and through our 10000+ retailers present in India, we promise to reach all 700 cities of India with 3G Data card as soon as the services are available.”

The product, neatly packaged in designs endorsing the BSNL brand ambassador and Indian celebrity, Deepika Padokone, is presently available in different cities such as Ambala, Jallandhar, Jaipur, Lucknow, Agra, Patna, Durgapur, Haldia, Dehradun and Shimla.

Micromax has introduced both the HSDPA and the HSUPA versions of the data cards in the USB form factor.

The simplicity of the product together with plug and play use has proved to be a delight for the customers. The product weighs below 50 grams, comes in a tiny form factor like USB pen-drive and can be used together with both the notebook plus in desktop.

The product backs up certain edition of Windows plus MAC operating systems and Micromax promises on releasing the support for limited versions of Linux operating system shortly.

Micromax also has a unique product service setup and provides a toll-free telephone number for registrating complaints.

Micromax also offers on-site service in the majority of the Indian cities, thus saving the hassles of visiting the service centre just in case things are not right with the product. Helping the cause are approximately 200 Micromax touch-points which are Product Support Engineers spread in approx 150 Indian cities.

Data Card is one of the first and leading product applications that can drive higher Data ARPU’s for the operator on the 3G spectrum. The product also ranks highest amongst the user group for an enriching 3G experience.
 
With the launch of 3G services, Mobile Broadband is indeed unleashed in India. The device, on BSNL 3G network, promises theoretical speeds of up-to 7.2 Mbps for Download and up-to 2 Mbps for upload applications (on HSUPA modem).
