Cristiano Ronaldo has turned FIFA World Player of the Year award into a one-horse race

London, Nov. 25 : Liverpool striker Fernando Torres has claimed that Manchester United and Portuguese striker Cristiano Ronaldo has turned the FIFA World Player of the Year award into a one-horse race.

The Liverpool striker is on a shortlist of 23 for the prestigious trophy — along with five of his Euro 2008-winning Spanish teammates.

The Sun quoted Torres as saying: “No one can rival him, he is in a class of his own. I have never seen a comparable player. What he did last season was incredible. He’s a machine.” (ANI)
