Washington, Nov 17 : In the wake of the ongoing recession and economy collapse, Pakistan is learnt to have turned to Britain and 11 other “Friends of Democratic Pakistan” for help to save itself from financial crisis and military defeat by Islamist insurgents, said a report in timesonline. com
According to the report, Pakistani officials are in Abu Dhabi today to ask for billions of dollars from “Friends of Democratic Pakistan”. The meeting comes just two days after Pakistan agreed to a loan of 7.6 billion dollars from the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
Islamabad, Nov 17 : The Marriott Hotel in Islamabad, which faced the most dreadful suicide attack in Pakistan’s history claiming more than 50 lives, will have a bomb-proof wall around it to protect it against terrorist attacks in the future, said the hotel administration.
Quoting hotel sources, a TV channel reported that a concrete wall would also be built alongside the bombproof wall.
New Delhi, Nov 17 : The Ministry of Rural Development will organise a third South Asian Conference on Sanitation (SACOSAN-III) here from tomorrow.
The four day long conference will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh.
Besides, the members of different UN and International Agencies, International and National NGOs, State officials, members of Panchayati Raj Institutions, local organizations, self help groups, women groups, community based organizations and the like are expected to participate in the conference.
