‘I was taken aback when Obama asked me to be his chief diplomat’, says Clinton

Hillary ClintonWashington, Feb. 18 : US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, has revealed that she was taken aback when President Barack Obama offered her the post of his chief diplomat.

"I didn''t expect to end up working for the man who defeated me in last year''s Democratic primaries," the Washington Times quoted, Clinton, as saying.

Addressing a gathering of civil society leaders in Jakarta, she said: "In elections, there are winners and losers, and the losers should acknowledge their defeat and either move on, or try to bring about change by other peaceful means."

Earlier, Clinton received a warm welcome at Jakarta International Airport, where 44 children from an elementary school that Obama attended in the late 1960s, sang a folk song while waving American and Indonesian flags.

Hundreds of people lined up at both sides of her motorcade route to greet her. (ANI)
