Lil Wayne settles suit over Rolling Stones’ sample use out of courtWashington, January 31: Rap superstar Lil Wayne has reached an out-of-court settlement with a record company over the use of a Rolling Stones sample in a song on his latest album.

He was sued by the record company Abkco, which claimed that the rapper had used Play With Fire on his track Playing With Fire from his disc Tha Carter III.

The firm is said to be the owner of the rights to the Stones track, which appeared in the 1965 album Out of Our Heads.

The contention raise by executives at the firm was that Wayne should have sought their permission for using the sample for his song.

Wayne removed the song from the online version of his album after the record label moved the court.

According to reports, he has finally settled the matter with the firm out of court.

The details of the settlement, however, have not been revealed as yet.

"All parties expressed themselves satisfied with the amicable settlement," Contactmusic quoted a statement from both parties as confirming. (ANI)
