Manchester City agree fee for West Ham striker Bellamy

Manchester City agree fee for West Ham striker Bellamy London - West Ham United confirmed on Monday that they have agreed a fee to sell striker Craig Bellamy to Manchester City.

The turbulent Wales international had stormed out of training last week - subsequently being omitted from the squad for Sunday's 3-1 win over Fulham - after West Ham turned down bids from Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City.

A source close to the player told Deutsche Presse-Agentur dpa that Bellamy had been angered because he had been told he would be allowed to leave for 12 million pounds (17.6 million dollars), and at least one of those bids was in excess of that.

It is thought that the bid that has been accepted is in the region of 14 million pounds.

The 29-year-old spent 18 months at West Ham in which he made 20 league starts and scored seven goals.

Bellamy is City's second signing of the transfer window, following left-back Wayne Bridge, who joined from Chelsea. (dpa)
