Panasonic brings about a change in its creative and media agencies

Panasonic VieraAfter a recent change in the creative and media agencies of the consumer, business and industrial electronic goods bigwig Panasonic, Percept's IBD has been handed over the Viera - LCD and plasma TV range - and Lumix businesses including Limux camera range; while Percept's media agency, Allied Media, has bagged the company's media buying mandate.

According to a change brought about by Panasonic a month back, Leo Burnett had been appointed the new creative caretaker for the Japanese company's corporate and home appliances business. However, with the new turnaround, Dentsu - a three-year Panasonic associate in handling corporate account, home appliances and business solutions - has won back the company's creative business.

Updating Televisionpoint.com about the new changes, Sabiha Kidwai, the Panasonic India Marketing Director, said: "We have appointed Dentsu along with IBD for the creative duties, while our media duties are with Allied Media."

Panasonic, which has chosen Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor as the face for the LCD range of Panasonic Viera - though the agreement is yet-to-be-finalized - plans to launch a communication in May first week. Panasonic had reportedly allocated Rs 20 crore towards its brand's communication activities last year, but with Kapoor being roped in, the company would likely step up its communication expenditure!
