Rahman Adjudged the Best Music Composer for Slumdog MillionaireDanny Boyle's 'Slumdog Millionaire' earned A. R. Rahman the Best Music Composer award at the 14th annual Critics'' Choice awards in America.

The event was held on January 8, at the Santa Monica Civic Auditorium in LA on Thursday. Slumdog Millionaire walked away with 5 awards.

The movie is about a young boy's "from rags to riches" story.

Director Danny Boyle won Best Director award and Writer Simon Beaufoy won an award for the film.

Actor Dev Patel received the young actor/actress award.

Actor Sean Penn received the top award for best actor for his film 'Milk', while Anne Hathaway for 'Rachel Getting Married' and Meryl Streep, for 'Doubt' won a combined award for best actress.

Heath Ledger was honoured posthumously for his role as a Joker in 'The Dark Knight'.

Kate Winslet received the supporting actress for her role in "The Reader," and Bruce Springsteen walked away with the song award for 'The Wrestler.'
