Cash at judge door case: HC extends chargesheet date

CBIChandigarh, Jan 31 : The Punjab and Haryana High Court, on Saturday, extended the date for filing the chargesheet against Justice Nirmal Yadav, in connection with the ''cash at judge door'' scandal as the Central Bureau of Investigation failed to present it on time.

Meanwhile, the defence counsel has moved an application seeking the release of materials and documents at the time of arrest of the other accused in the case, former Haryana Additional Advocate General Sanjiv Bansal and Parkash Ram.

The cash at judge door scandal broke on August 13, 2008, when Rs 15 lakh was delivered at the residence of Justice Nirmaljit Singh Kaur.

Chand Mohammad’s second wife tries to commit suicideChandigarh, Jan 29, : Former Haryana Deputy Chief Minister Chand Mohammad's second wife, Fiza, tried to commit suicide here on Thursday.

Fiza, who originally went by the name of Anuradha Bali, allegedly consumed blood pressure tablets at her uncle's house. She is now stated to be out of danger.

Chand Mohammad is former Chief Minister Bhajan Lal's eldest son and went by the name of Chander Mohan.

Chander MohanChandigarh, Jan 28 : Haryana's former Deputy Chief Minister Chander Mohan alias Chand Mohammad, who converted to Islam to marry Anuradha Bali alias Fiza, has gone missing.

His wife Fiza today alleged that Mohammad was thrashed before being kidnapped by his younger brother Kuldeep Bishnoi''s goons.

"His brother Kuldeep Bishnoi is behind the crime. He sent criminals who have abducted my husband after beating him badly," Fiza told reporters.

Mohammad's love story rocked the nation when he embraced Islam and lost his Deputy CM position to marry his beloved, Anuradha Bali.

Chandigarh boy among top CATs; 50 get IIM calls Pavneet Singh Gulyani, a Chandigarh-based boy has managed to succeed with nice ranking in CAT exam results as he got full 100 percentile and also got calls from six IIMs, Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Kolkata, Lucknow, Kozhikode and Indore.
