Hindi-Chini Bhai-Bhai, Chinese troops sing India''s national anthem

India, ChinaBelgaum (Karnataka), Dec 6 : The spirit of "Hindi-Chini Bhai-Bhai" was rekindled here when the 137-member Chinese Army contingent in India for a joint anti-terror exercise stunned their Indian counterparts when they sang with great respect and honour India''s national anthem.

Around 90 soldiers of the 1st company of the infantry battalion of the Chengdu Military Area Command stood in line and sang "Jana Gana Mana" in unison, surprising Indian Army personnel during the official banquet hosted here at Maratha Light Infantry Regimental Centre here on Friday.

Sino-Indian joint army exercise on counter terror begins

Belgaum (Karnataka), Dec. 6 : The first-ever Sino-Indian military combat exercises on Indian soil to counter terror and insurgency began here this morning.

“The Sino-Indian military joint exercises are drills. We are looking for confidence-building measures,” said. Major General V K Narula, Additional Director General (Public Information) at the Army Headquarters, here.

“ The joint training exercise is based on a Memorandum of Understanding signed by the defence ministers of two countries,” said the leader of Chinese Army delegation, Senior Colonel Huang Xue Cing.

Huang also said that the Indian Army had given a very welcome to the 137-strong Chinese Army contingent.

“It is a very serious thing what Kerala''s Chief Minister has said and I will request the leadership that they should ask Achuthanandan to quit,” said Lalu.

He was reacting to an objectionable remark reportedly made by Kerala CM, after being snubbed by bereaved Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan’s father, when he visited his house in Bangalore on November 30.
