Deshmukh invites Tata to start Nano plant in MaharashtraMumbai, Oct 4 : As Ratan Tata made Nano''s exit from West Bengal became official on Saturday, Maharashtra Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh renewed his invitation to Tatas to set up the ''Nano'' car plant in the State.

Talking to media persons here, Deshmukh said, "Ratan Tata had approached me when I was on a tour to Europe. Now I will meet him to discuss the proposal."

Deshmukh reiterated that his government will give all necessary facilities to start Nano plant in the State.

Sensex plummets after rejection of US bail out package

Bombay Stock ExchangeMumbai, Sept 30: As an after-affect of the rejection of the 700-billion dollar bail out package by US House of Representatives, the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) benchmark Sensex plunged by 442 points to a two-year low of 12,153 in early trade today.

Within minutes of opening, the BSE Sensex fell mainly in the stocks of banking, metal, realty and IT sectors.

The National Stock Exchange (NSE) index Nifty fell by 135 points or 3.40 per cent at 3715 with all the heavy-weight stocks trading in negative zone.

Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) Mumbai, Sept 29 : Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) provisionally fell 3.87 per cent on Monday as a spreading global financial crisis kept investors nervous, with top private sector lender ICICI Bank leading the losses.

During the day''s trading BSE was down more than five per cent, hitting its lowest in one and a half years.

The 30-share index provisionally closed 472.58 points down at 12,629.60, with all but three of its components falling.

The 50-issue National Stock Exchange (NSE) index provisionally lost 2.9 per cent to 3,869.65.

Reliance Communications launches GSM Services in major citiesReliance Communications (RCom), part of the Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group, has finally launched its GSM services across major cities in the country.

The firm has initially launched the service in Mumbai, Delhi, Gujarat, Punjab, Bangalore and Chennai.

According to sources, the company has provided GSM phones to its employees for testing the service installed over 2,500 towers in Mumbai and Delhi circles and invested around Rs 800 crore each for the purpose.
