Kathmandu - Eighteen people were killed in a plane crash in north-eastern Nepal, aviation officials said Wednesday.
The Yeti Airlines plane crashed and killed all but the pilot onboard as it attempted to land at Lukla Airport, about 150 kilometres north-east of Kathmandu, officials said.
The victims included 12 Germans, two Swiss and four Nepalese, reports quoted police as saying.
The plane's captain, who was the only survivor, was transferred to a hospital in Kathmandu, reports said.

Kathmandu, Oct 7: Nepali Congress president Girija Prasad Koirala has claimed that he will bring the party back to its pre-election form within just three months.
Speaking to party workers here on Monday, Koirala said he was confident that the party would regain its lost strength within that time.
He said that he was not yet ready to transfer leadership to what is known within the Congress party as second generation, saying he would not retire unless the party regained its old form.
Kathmandu - Nepal's main living goddess known as Kumari of Kathmandu city is set to be replaced after the incumbent came of age, official reports said Monday.
Matina Shakya, 3, will be installed as the Kumari of Kathmandu on Tuesday coinciding with the Hindu festival of Dashain, the official Gorkhapatra newspaper said.
As part of the tradition, Matina, along with her parents were introduced to Nepalese President Ram Baran Yadav to seek his approval.
Traditionally, Nepalese kings gave the final go ahead for the chosen girl to be installed as the living goddess.
