Robinho denies nightclub girl''s ''sex attack'' allegationLondon, Jan. 28 : Twenty-five-year-old Brazilian striker Robinho has denied a nightclub girl''s ''sex attack'' allegation, saying he voluntarily spoke to West Yorkshire Police officers for several hours about the so-called incident before being released on bail.

"He strenuously denies any allegation of wrongdoing or criminality and is happy to co-operate with the police if required further," his spokesman said.

The 18-year-old student claimed she was sexually assaulted two weeks ago in the VIP section of the Space nightclub in Leeds. She said she was having a night out with friends.

It is believed police were hoping to interview Robinho, who earns 165,000 pounds a week, when Manchester City returned from training in Tenerife last week. But he made an unscheduled trip back to Brazil, without telling Man City manager Mark Hughes. He was later reported to have returned home to attend to "urgent family business".

Robinho lives in Cheshire with girlfriend Vivian Guglielmetti. They have a 13-month-old son called Robson junior. (ANI)
