Some Aspects Of Autism Are Inherited, Says Researchers

A new study reveled that a few aspects of autism are hereditary.

The study researchers, who carried out psychological examinations on 42 parents of children having autism, discovered that these parents appeared to be "socially aloof."

Lead researcher Dr. Joe Piven of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and neuroscientist Dr. Ralph Adolphs, of the California Institute of Technology accriied out the research with the help of his fellow workers.

The findings has been published in the July 17 issue of Current Biology.

Menthol cigarettes target "young smokers"

A recent research by a Harvard university team has said that Tobacco Companies are manipulating the level of Menthol in cigarettes. This is, obviously, being done to attract adults by making the product brand more appealing. However, cigarette industry has denied these charges.

Menthol is being used to increase the addictiveness of the nicotine though Menthol in itself is not addictive in nature. It decreases the harshness of smoke and changes its smell by making it more appealing. Menthol cigarette use among teens increased between 2000 and 2002.
