New Delhi  - At least 44 people, many of them women, died in a road accident on Tuesday when their bus plunged into a 200-feet-deep gorge in the northern Indian hill state of Himachal Pradesh, police said.

The accident took place near the tourist destination of Kufri, about 16 kilometres north of Himachal Pradesh capital Shimla, where the bus was headed, an official at the police control room said.

The privately-owned bus had originated at Kotighat, about 70 kilometres north of Shimla, and had picked up passengers along the way.

New Delhi, Nov 4 : American singer Jessica Simpson had to rush to hospital when her best friend was injured by the paparazzi, while trying to protect her.

The incident occurred on November 2 as Simpson was leaving the Madeo restaurant in Los Angeles with her hairdresser Ken Paves, the China Daily reported.

Paves, who was attempting to shield Simpson, 28, from the hoards of paparazzi outside the eatery, was accidentally struck, causing blood to start trickling down his face.

The singer, Paves, and another male friend were immediately driven to Los Angeles'' Cedars-Sinai hospital, where Paves had to have stitches for the cut.

New Delhi, Nov. 4 : Thirty-one-year-old Australian fast bowler Brett Lee has resurrected himself as his team’s spearhead during the course of the Delhi Test, but still feels that too much has been written about his personal problems.

Lee fought to ensure the recent break-up of his marriage did not affect his on-field fortunes.

The ‘Beach’ actor may have dated women like Helena Christensen, Gisele Budchen and Bar Rafaeli, but he is not a smooth talker with women, the star himself says.

The notification for the assembly polls in Delhi will be issued today.

Lt. Governor of Delhi Tejinder Khanna will issue the notification.

After the formal notification, nomination for the polls will begin. Voting for Delhi is scheduled to be held on November 29.

Last date for nomination is 11 November. Scrutiny of papers will be done on the next day 12 Nov. November 14 has been fixed for as the date for withdrawal of nominations.

Counting of votes will be done on 8th of December. The term of present assembly will come to an end on December 17.
