23 killed in central Iraq in car bomb blast
In Iraq's northern Diyala province, a car bomb blast has killed at least 23 people and injured another 53 people. The bomb blasted at Shia town of Khalis about 80 kilometers north to the capital Baghdad at 1630 GMT. However, a spate of attacks has killed more than 100 people earlier this month.
The situation in Iraq is getting worse after the elections in March. In the general election no single party had claimed the majority to form government.
However this is one of the deadliest attacks ever in Iraq after the double bombing attack on 14th May in which 25 people had died and around 120 people were injured. The officials in Baghdad have said that a car containing the explosives set off at a busy market in front of a coffee shop in the evening.
Many shops of that market have been destroyed. The coffee shop was destroyed completely and the officials believe there are people still under the roof of these shops. But people at the spot blamed the police and loose security for this mishap.
