Animated Film On MGRLegendary superstar of south Indian cinema and Tamil Nadu’s former chief minister M.G. Ramachandran will be seen in a forthcoming animated 3D film ‘Puratchi Thalaivan’.

Puratchi Thalaivan is directed by Venky Baboo and produced by Sridevi Rao under the banner Mayabimbam Media.

The success of his old re-issue movies including Nadodi Mannan, Aayirathil Oruvan, Ulagam Sutrum Valibhan has already proved that years after his death, MGR still lives in the heart of people of Tamilnadu.

Producer Sridevi Rao said, “It involves a Tamil artiste and leader 'Puratchi Thalaivan' who saves the nation by fighting and exposing traitors. The film will help the late leader, popularly known as MGR, compete with 'younger heroes' such as Rajnikant, Kamal (Haasan), Vijaykanth, Ajith and Sarath (Kumar).”

Earlier the company had produced Inimey Naangathaan V4, a 3D animation, which was appreciated for its making.

Publicist Nikhil Murugan said, “The venture will present the grace of the evergreen MGR to the new generation with the latest methods of storytelling since his last official movie 'Maduraiyai Meetta Sundarapandiyan' (The handsome Pandiyan who retrieved Madurai) was released in 1978 - three decades back.”

The work on the movie is in progress. It will depict the best of the legends’ style and mannerisms.

The film’s trailer will be premiered on January 17, to coincide with MGR’s 92nd birth anniversary.

MGR was Tamil Nadu's chief minister from 1977 till his death in 1987. He acted in 132 films in a career spanning 43 years.
