The British Airways has said that it is planning to add more flights between Edinburgh and London City airports next year allowing people to have more options on the route.

After the launch of the additional flights, the passengers will have up to 25 daily flights between the capital cities in the UK. The airline is planning to run around nine return flights a day between Edinburgh and London City located in Docklands area. The new flights come after increasing demand from the business travellers on the route.

The additional flights will be launch at a time when the airline is set to launch new services from London City to European destinations including Rotterdam and Florence, and additional services to Amsterdam and Zurich. The move to launch more flights between Edinburgh and London City comes after City Jet, a subsidiary of Air France scrapped services on the route saying that the route is not viable commercially.

BA operates up to 12 return flights a day between Edinburgh and Heathrow, four to and from Gatwick and eight between Edinburgh and London City.
