"Banned" Dutch rightwing politician due to travel to Britain
Amsterdam - Dutch politician and Islam-critic Geert Wilders is due to travel to Britain later this week, the Netherlands' Freedom Party said Wednesday, following the lifting of a British travel ban on him.
The announcement came a day after Britain's Asylum and Immigration Tribunal rescinded a travel ban imposed on him by the British government earlier this year.
Wilders now intends to travel to Britain on Friday, following his refusal of entry in February. T
The Freedom Party leader had intended to show his short film Fitna, which criticizes the Koran as a "fascist book," to an audience at the House of Lords in London.
The 16-minute film, released in March 2008, warns against the spread of radical Islam and the alleged "Islamization" of the Netherlands. (dpa)
