Benazir returns back to Karachi (Lead-Benazir's return)

Islamabad, Nov 3: Former Pakistan premier Benazir Bhutto returned back to Karachi tonight, cutting short her visit to Dubai in the wake of the imposition of martial law in the country, according to some media reports.

However, there are conflicting reports about her arrival in Karachi.

While The Nation, quoting her spokesman in London, said that Benazir has returned to Karachi on Saturday night, The News on the other hand reported that her flight has been stooped at the Dubai airport.

Bhutto's husband, Asif Ali Zardari, confirmed Benazir's boarding the flight to Karachi to an international news agency, and said, "It's definitely not pleasant news (imposition of emergency)."

On Thursday, Bhutto left for Dubai citing her mother's poor health.

Bhutto was scheduled to arrive back on November 8.

She had survived a suicide attack during her homecoming procession on October 18, as she ended her eight years of self-exile.

Her homecoming was made possible after she made some negotiations with President Pervez Musharraf. (ANI)
