Bharathi Cement To Double Up Its Production Capacity By 2010-End
With the aim to meet up the growing demand of cement, Bharathi Cement Corporation (BCC) announced that it would increase its manufacturing capacity and make five million tonnes of cement by the end of the existing financial year (2010-11).
The country's premier cement making company will attain this goal by expanding its cement facility in the state of Andhra Pradesh.
Mr. M Ravinder Reddy, company's marketing director stated that its Andhra Pradesh based cement facility commenced its functioning in September last year.
At present, it has an annual cement manufacturing capacity of 250 million tonnes and another 250 million tonnes of production capacity would be appended by the last quarter of the existing year.
Mr. Reddy stated that the cement facility would become one of the major cement making divisions in the Asian market after expansion.
Bharathi Cement, a JV with France-based cement making company VICAT, sells its product in eight Indian states, which comprises Kerala, Pondicherry, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Andaman and Nicobar, Maharashtra and Goa.
Mr. Reddy added that the said cement production in the country would be capable of matching up usage capacitance by the next two to three years.
