Bharti Scrip Down 3.19% In Noon TradeTelecom operator Bharti Airtel's scripdropped 3.19% in noon trade Tuesday, after declining more than 9% on Monday as share holders continued to speculate on the burden a $10.7 billion acquirement it has projected.

At the Bombay Stock Exchange, the company's scrip stood at Rs 276.30, down 3.19% as against its previous close.

The Sunil Mittal-controlled Bharti Airtel announced on Monday that it was in exclusive talks to get hold of Kuwait telecom company Zain's assets in Africa for $10.7 billion.

Traders had thereafter plunged Bharti stock that closed Monday over 9 percent lower at Rs 285.40, on concerns that the planned acquisition could hurt the company's funds.

The planned takeover will not comprise Zain's assets in Morocco and Sudan, the company said about the offer -- its third effort to make entry in Africa after twice failing to enter a merger deal with South Africa's MTN. (With Input from Agencies)
