Big-B To Skip The Last Lear’s Premiere At IFFI, Goa
Rituparno Ghosh’s The Last Lear has finally arrived in India on the seventh day of Goa International Film festival after getting applause from abroad cities like Rome and London.
Speculations are rife that film is based on Shakespeare’s play, but the director says no.
Ghosh, said, “It’s not based on any Shakespeare’s play.”
The major premiere scheduled for 38th International film Festival of India (IFFI) will be devoid of glitz and glitter. The lead actor of The Last Lear, Amitabh Bachchan won’t be present at the film’s screening. Preity Zinta and Arjun Rampal, who are co-stars in the film, will also give a miss to the premiere here.
The film will have four screenings on a single day and will be represented by Ghosh, and supporting actresses Shefali Shah and Divya Dutta.
The Directorate of Film Festivals received final word that Bachchan, as in previous years, will be skipping IFFI despite the fact that a major film of his is being unveiled here.
