Bihar police recover explosives from Maoists hideoutGaya (Bihar), Apr 10 : Bihar Police have recovered a huge cache of explosives hidden in a water tank by the Maoists in the Bhalua forest area of Gaya District.

Police have seized all the explosives.

"We raided a bunker and found arms and ammunitions stored in a water tank. There were seven country made sten guns and 16 bombs, weighing 20 kilograms. We are further investigating the incident," said M. R. Nayak, Superintendent of Police, Gaya.

In another raid, the Bihar police teamed up with the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), and recovered large amount of explosives from the Imamganj jungle.

"In Lutwa jungle near Imamganj village, we conducted a joint search operation. We recovered 72 boxes of ammunitions from there. The Maoists fled away before we could reach the spot," Nayak said.

Nayak termed the operations successful, saying they were keeping vigil to counter any mischievous attempts from the Maoists. (ANI)
