New Delhi, Sep 4 : The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) on Thursday forged an alliance in Assam for the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections
However, decision on seat sharing was not taken.
Assam BJP president Ramanand Deka on Thursday met the Central Election Committee of the party and held discussions with them about the stand to be adopted by the party during the general elections.
After the meeting BJP leader M Venkaiah Naidu said, “The party also discussed AGP''s resolution of fighting the Lok Sabha elections with BJP and decided in principle to contest along with them."
The BJP has authorised Jaswant Singh and Sushma Swaraj to hold talks with the six-member committee formed by AGP to finalise details related to polls. (ANI)
