Finally a case was registered against Prajarajyam chief, Chiranjeevi and his fans on Saturday evening. The actor-turned-politician Chiranjeevi was booked for "conniving with others in kidnap, wrongful confinement and criminal intimidation".

Nalini's parents allege that their daughter was abducted by Padma Rao and his son Chetan from a working women's hostel in Ameerpet. Later she was forced to marry Chetan, son of Dalit writer Kathi Padma Rao at Film Nagar club on August 30. They also claim that police didn’t act on their complaint on time.

The marriage of Padma Rao's son Chetan, with Nalini, a 24-year-old engineer belonging to an upper caste has sparked many controversies. Nalini’s parents claim that their daughter was forced to tie the knot with Chetan. They also claim that police didn’t pay heed to their complaint. They have approached State Human Rights Commission regarding negligence of duty by police.

On the appeal of Nalini’s parents police has booked a case against Dalit writer Kathi Padma Rao, his son Chetan and others at the Sanjeeva Reddy Nagar police station on Friday night for their role in the controversial inter-caste wedding.

The presence of Chiranjeevi on occasion of the marriage of Padma Rao's son Chetan with Nalini added more substance to the controversies surrounding this wedlock.

Tammina Subba Rao and T Mani alleged that this wedlock was forced on their daughter.
