Jammu, Mar 3 : Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Tuesday said the Central Government should consider giving a safe passage for foreign ultras, so that they can return to their country of origin.

“The Centre must provide a safe passage for foreign ultras, so that they can stop their work and come back to the mainstream. Most of them belong to other countries and they have to go back,” Omar said.

Omar said that around 800 militants are active in the state, of which 30 percent do not belong to the state.

The young CM that said that doors for holding talks with every group was open from government’s side.

“We have kept our doors open for talks. Not only that, but we are also approaching every section so that they can come and talk to us and put forward their demands. We can convince Delhi and Islamabad. We want the gun culture to stop in the valley,” Omar added.

Stressing upon the need for people to people contact, he further stated that relations with Pakistan have to be improved as a large part of Kashmir was under their occupation. (ANI)
