Cognizant acquires C1 Group’s six companies
NASDAQ-listed Cognizant has acquired Germany-based consulting & IT services provider C1 Group's six companies that focus on three segments, viz. energy & utilities, manufacturing & logistics and financial services.
Without disclosing the price of the deal, Cognizant said that the deal would provide it with highly experienced domain, process and technology experts who have profound knowledge in delivering multifarious systems integration projects.
Cognizant Chief Executive Francisco D'Souza said that the strategic acquisition underscored the company's commitment to the German and the bigger European markets.
Under the terms of the deal, nearly five hundred C1 professionals from across various locations in Germany and Switzerland will join Cognizant team. In addition, Cognizant will enjoy the C1 Group companies' strong client relationships.
Cognizant Senior Vice-President Allen Shaheen said, "With their strong client relationships and entrepreneurial ecosystem, these entities are a perfect cultural fit for Cognizant."
C1 also offers enterprise application services, particularly SAP, specialized software development and high-end testing services.
The deal is expected to close early next quarter.
