However, UA does pose a clear advantage over levonorgestrel in that it can be taken up to five days after having unprotected sex.

This extends the window for emergency contraception by another 48 hours, which is a moral boost in itself and thereby should help many women prevent unwanted pregnancies. This pill can only be obtained by a prescription, and that can take time to arrange. This is something to consider, as the sooner you take emergency contraception after having sex, the better it works.

UA still is on its testing grounds and is yet to win over others via its functionality. Besides, the advantage it is recommended for minimal use and only in conditions of emergency. Regular usage leads to serious health concerns.
