CRISIL Research Blames Slack Policies for Employment Debacle
In a major revelation, CRISIL Research has called for creating at least 5.5 crore additional jobs by 2015 if the country wants to sustain the current ratio of employed people to total population. As of now, the ratio stands at 39%, and to ascertain the mark of 5.5 crore additional jobs, the study in the name of Employment in India — Uneven and Weak has accounted people at different status of employment, including employed, retiring or losing their jobs.
Though the GDP has increased from 6% during 2000-05 to 8.6% during 2005-10, the contribution of jobs remained almost flat at around 2.7 crore during these two periods.
Confirming the result, the study sated: “While net additions to jobs during the second half of the 2000 decade have been higher than the much-discussed two million numbers, this is clearly not enough to ensure inclusive growth”.
It has been claimed that due to lack of support from the regulatory system, the employment could not be generated to the full extent in all the sectors.
It has been reported that as developed countries are facing a challenging time, the employment sector in export oriented sectors in India has been badly hit and adding worries is the slack policy structure.
