San Jose - A woman was killed by a crocodile in the northern Costa Rican province of Guanacaste, local media reported Friday.

The animal reportedly attacked the woman Thursday on the river Bebedero, some 250 kilometres north of the Costa Rican capital, San Jose.

Another man was killed by a crocodile in northern Costa Rica a few months ago. The animals live on several of the country's rivers. (dpa)
