Goalpara , May 26 : Lower Assam’s Goalpara and Krishnai towns are under indefinite curfew since Sunday after irate mobs clashed with police, leaving one person dead and wounding four others.

High tension prevailed in the area after miscreants torched two houses near the Krishnai market following the recovery of a 55-year old man's dead body from a lake on Sunday.

Police have picked on charges of committing acts of arson.

Earlier around 5,000 people, armed with lethal weapons and stones stormed a police station and pelted it. (ANI)
