Dhoni Will Return As Captian

Mahendra Singh Dhoni took a break from three-Test series in Sri Lanka due Dhoni Will Return As Captianto fatigue from constant cricket. He will return as a captain of the Indian cricket team for the five-match series against Sri Lanka and the forthcoming 2008 ICC Champions Trophy in Pakistan.

Virat Kohli, the Under-19 World Cup winning captain was given a place in both the squads. Ishant Sharma was replaced by Munaf Patel in team for one-dayers in Srilanka. However Ishant Sharma will play in the forthcoming 2008 ICC Champions Trophy in Pakistan. Yuvraj Singh will be vice captain of both the squads.

Sachin Tendulkar and Zaheer Khan have fully recovered from their injuries. They were included in the Indian ODI squads for the five-match series against Sri Lanka and the forthcoming 2008 ICC Champions Trophy in Pakistan. Harbhajan Singh will also be part of both the squads.

However some Indian cricketers were not given a place in either of the squads. Yusuf Pathan and Piyush Chawla couldn’t secure position for them in either of the squads. Similarly Rahul Dravid and Sourav Ganguly were not given a place in squad for the 2008 ICC Champions Trophy. The 2008 ICC Champions Trophy will be held in Pakistan from September 11 to September 28.
