Elderly, pregnant women an ill advised not to go on HajThe Saudi Arabian government has come up with an advisory for those who want to go for Haj this year.

The Saudi authorities has asked elderly people, pregnant women, people with chronic diseases and children not to go on Haj later this year.

“Ministry of Health, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, recommends that elderly, pregnant women, people with chronic diseases and children should postpone the Hajj and Umrah pilgrimages this year for their own safety,” the advisory from Saudi Arabia said.

The authorities have further asked the Haj pilgrims to get vaccinated against seasonal flu at least two weeks before travelling.

They added that any one suspected to be suffering from swine flu would be temporarily quarantined and admitted to hospital for isolation if he/she tests positive.

''If a pilgrim is suspected to have influenza A H1N1 (swine flu), he/she will be temporarily quarantined and if tests positive, he/she will be admitted to hospital for isolation,'' said an official spokesman.
