Ashley Alexandra Dupre, a former hooker, whose February tryst with ex-New York governor Eliot Spitzer cost him his job, apologises to Spitzer's wife in her first after scandal magazine interview with People magazine, scheduled to hit news stands on Friday.

Dupre, 23, a former Emperor's Club VIP escort known as Kristen, says she cannot get the pained, stricken look on Spitzer's wife face out of her memory. The look on her face, in her eyes, the hurt flashes back, each time she recalls the governor announcing his resignation. Till she saw him resigning on TV, Dupre says she had no idea who Client No. 9 was. He came alone for their meeting at Washington 's Mayflower Hotel on Valentine's eve, without any security.

Not elaborating on their liaison on her lawyer's advice, however, Dupre reveals Spitzer was polite and very businesslike, unlike other guys who like to chat and get to know each other. For him, she says: "It was more of a transaction. Strictly business.", and she practiced safe sex with him.

Appearing with Diane Sawyer for ABC's 20 / 20 airing this Friday, Dupre talks about 'upper middle-class, girl next door got into the profession and the psychological journey she continues to experience.' As for her future, she now wants to get into music, fashion and 'writing books', but not prostitution. 'Never again!' she says.
