Fujimori found guilty of human rights abuses Lima - Peru's onetime president Alberto Fujimori was found guilty Tuesday of human rights abuses which occurred during his presidency.

As he started reading the judgement, chief judge Cesar San Martin said that the charges against Fujimori had been proven. Sentencing was to follow at the end of the reading of the judgement.

Fujimori, 70, is expected to appeal the ruling.

The specific charges centred on the killing of 25 people and two kidnappings in 1991 and 1992.

Prosecutors have asked for a 30-year sentence. (dpa)
