The Tamil Nadu government received a notice from the Supreme Court on Wednesday and was questioned regarding the free distribution of products like color televisions and computers to attract the voters, the cost of which would be accounted from the public funds. A book named ‘Sivaji Ganesan: Profile of an Icon’ was released in the memory of Sivaji Ganesan by producer A V M Saravanan.
The first copy of the book was received by Sivaji Ganesan’s son Ramkumar. Apart from Balu Mahendra and K Bhagyaraj, renowned cinema writer and researcher Aruna Vasudev, and Shobit Arya, from Wisdom Tree were also present on the occasion.
Speaking on this occasion the author of the book S Theodore Baskaran said, “The younger generation should be aware of legends like P U Chinnapa, Thygaraja Bhagavadhar and the man who produced the first Tamil film, Nataraja Mudaliayar.”
