Israel further dilutes forces in Gaza, army reports calm night

Gaza City/Tel Aviv - Israel pulled more troops out of Gaza overnight, as a fragile truce which ended three weeks of deadly and destructive attacks in the strip entered its second day Monday.

"We are continuing to dilute the forces," a military official told Deutsche Presse-Agentur dpa.

Reserve soldiers who had pulled out, however, were not yet being released and remained on high alert.

Gazans and Israelis meanwhile woke up after a relatively quiet night, with the military official saying no rockets landed in southern Israel and the military carrying out no air-strikes in response.

London, Jan. 19 : Manchester City manager Mark Hughes has reportedly told the Arab owners of the club to sign Brazilian and A C Milan football star Kaka now or risk missing out on him.

Hughes' missive came as the club's executive chairman Garry Cook and City officials are due to sit down with the Brazilian's father Bosco Leite and AC Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani in Italy today to firm up their 91 million pound pursuit of Kaka, The Sun reports.

The deal, with wages and add-ons, could still reach as much as 243 million pounds.

Black Death claims lives of 40 al-Qaeda activists in Algeria

London, Jan. 19 : At least 40 al-Qaeda fanatics have died horribly after being struck down by the "Black Death", a disease that ravaged Europe during the Middle Ages.

According to The Sun, the deaths occurred a forest training camp in Algeria, North Africa.

It came to light when security forces found a body by a roadside. The victim was a terrorist in AQLIM (al-Qaeda in the Land of the Islamic Maghreb), the largest and most powerful al-Qaeda group outside the Middle East.

It trains Muslim fighters to kill British and US troops.

Now, al-Qaeda chiefs fear the plague has been passed to other terror cells - or Taliban fighters in Afghanistan.
