Balasore (Orissa), Sept 27 : Orissa is reeling under floods caused by heavy rains over the past few days across the state.

Ludhiana, Sept. 27 : Punjab, which is known as the granary of the country, is heading towards a bumper paddy crop this year.

The 25.75 hectares of land available for paddy production has registered a rise in its per-hectare production, and the production figures stand at around 15.2 million tonnes.

Paddy has started arriving in the markets across the state, with government and private agencies busy procuring them.

New Delhi, Sept.27 : Union Human Resource Development Minister Arjun Singh will flag off the "Azadi Express" - the Mobile Train Exhibition, on Friday.

The mobile exhibition, which celebrates the 150th anniversary of the 1857 uprising, the 60 years of India's independence from British colonial rule and the birth centenary of freedom fighter Bhagat Singh, will begin its journey from New Delhi.

For Shukla Chakraborty dolls were her best friends during childhood and still remain so at 47 years of age but for a different reason.

Shukla, who was just a housewife till a few years back, is now a famed entrepreneur in cloth dolls in Tripura.
