The Health Board is under Scanner

The Health Board is under ScannerThe health board is running on its toes yet again, as the X-rays and scan result of hundreds cases are being reviewed in an urgent basis. Following the realization of a major discrepancy in the work of Dr. James Murray, a locum consultant radiologist this inspection has been started.

The cases under review are the patients who had attended the radiology department at raigmore hospital in Inverness. Thanks to the concerns raised by the other doctors in the chest x-rays of these patients. Moreover there are couple of cases of lung cancer were also missed by the locum.

The re-examining of the tests of these 786 patients has raised questions on the working and the efficiency of the health board and it seems that the health board has not learnt from its mistakes.

While the 74 year old male locum is on a sick leave, concerns and doubts are being raised by Mary Scanlon, conservative MSP for the highlands and islands regarding the in-convenience and worry being caused to the patients and the inefficiency of the health boards.
